Shorts, Volume 1 is a compilation release featuring seven popular shorts from Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was originally released on VHS by Rhino Entertainment in July 1998; it was later re-released on DVD as part of the Volume 2 set from Rhino and its re-issue, Volume II from Shout! Factory. The featured shorts are: The Home Economics Story (Episode #317), Junior Rodeo Daredevils (Episode #407), Body Care and Grooming Episode #510), Cheating (Episode #515), A Date with Your Family (Episode #602), Why Study Industrial Arts? (Episode #609} and The Chicken of Tomorrow (Episode #702).

Shorts, Volume 2 is a compilation release featuring six popular shorts from Mystery Science Theater 3000, including Catching Trouble (Episode #315), What to Do on a Date (Episode #503), Last Clear Chance (Episode #520), A Day at the Fair (Episode #608), Keeping Clean and Neat (Episode #613) and The Days of Our Years (Episode #623).

In the first national broadcast of Mystery Science Theater 3000, the Mads have moved into Deep 13, Joel has spruced up the Bots, and Forrest Tucker sleepwalks his way through this week's literally eye-popping film.

In the show's first-ever Halloween special and first-ever 3D episode, Jonah and the 'Bots watch The Mask (1961).

Joel and the Bots learn from Body Care and Grooming (1947) that they might as well be dead if they don't keep their socks tidy. Later, the guys take on The Painted Hills (1951) in which famous collie Lassie witnesses the murder of a prospector. Crow gives a detailed report on bearded guys and the crew discusses the end of the film.

Tom Servo gets his new "Mighty Voice" and a chance to use it during another Gamera film. Crow is still frozen.

Shorts, Volume 3 is a compilation release from Rhino Entertainment featuring seven popular shorts from Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was originally released on VHS and later as a limited bonus with The Essentials DVD set if the set was ordered through a special website offer. Shorts, Volume 3 has since been re-released by Shout! Factory in The Singles Collection. The seven shorts featured are: Speech: Using Your Voice (Episode #313), Aquatic Wizards (Episode #315), Is This Love? (Episode #514), Design for Dreaming (Episode #524), The Selling Wizard (Episode #603), Out of This World (Episode #618) and Once Upon a Honeymoon (Episode #701).

Mike and the Bots learn the ins and outs of the thrilling world of grocery store refrigeration in The Selling Wizard (1954). Afterward, a scientist claims to have invented a machine that allows him to communicate with a recently murdered socialite in The Dead Talk Back (1994). Mike and the Bots host their own radio show called "The Dead Talk Back," and Gypsy starts a fire drill on the SOL.

Adapted (i.e., shredded and stitched into incoherence) from the 1974 Japanese series Saru No Gundan, Time of the Apes follows the travails of a scientist and two small children who are accidentally frozen and thaw into a future ruled by apes. Meanwhile, Crow and Servo have locked Joel out of the Satellite of Love.

Crow is a frozen Christmas tree and Tom is busy, so Joel has to watch the original Gamera film all by himself.

Servo writes a letter to his uncle in which he recalls many fond memories of his time aboard the satellite. Meanwhile, the crew are subjected to a TV drama about a New Orleans Super Bowl full of intrigue, romance, and catfish.

In Jonah's first experiment, he and robot companions Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot are subjected, by Kinga Forrester and Max, TV's son of TV's Frank, to a terrible Danish made monster movie.

While Jonah and crew dig into a schlocky ski-resort disaster flick starring Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow, Kinga connects with her long-distance lover.

This week's film is a deep sci-fi story about ants that leaves Crow wishing he'd brought a pair of boots into the theater.

The 007-ish exploits of Mighty Jack – a government organization created to defeat the notorious crime syndicate known as 'Q' – took everything that was bad about espionage movies and threw the rest out.
